Show Notes

Palantir just shattered expectations with a 93% jump in Q2 revenue to $1.94 billion, crushing analyst estimates and sending shares soaring. U.S. government and commercial business are both on fire, with massive new contracts and a commercial backlog that doubled to $6.24 billion. CEO Alex Karp says this pace could run for at least another 18 months — if Palantir can turn those deals from pilots into full production.

But here’s the catch: the international picture is much messier. In Europe, Palantir faces tax scrutiny and complaints from NHS clinicians about performance and “vendor lock-in” risks, while France’s intelligence service jumped ship to a local rival. Meanwhile, the company is trying to prove its AI can deliver real value outside defense — like boosting revenue for USA TODAY’s massive reader base or automating U.S. defense manufacturing with Mercury Systems.

On the global stage, Palantir has a shot at a multiyear Asian defense footprint and is rolling out edge-deployed, sovereign AI infrastructure with Ukraine. But fielding AI in war zones and reported use in Israel’s Gaza operations put ethics and oversight in the spotlight. Featuring reporting from CNBC, The Guardian, International Business Times UK, Nikkei Asia, The Manila Times, Anadolu Ajansı, and more.
