Alibaba just got hit with a record €550 million fine from the European Commission for failing to keep illegal, unsafe, and counterfeit goods off AliExpress. This isn’t just a regulatory slap—Brussels is demanding a full action plan by October 20, forcing Alibaba to overhaul its detection and enforcement or face even stiffer penalties.
