Ganguly, Yuvraj Join Delhi Dugout

The IPL is in chaos mode: big deadlines are locked, but key rules are still up in the air after the BCCI postponed its high-stakes meeting. Franchises are scrambling to build their squads without knowing whether the controversial Impact Player rule stays, gets tweaked, or is dropped. That one call will shake up team strategy, player prices, and even who makes the starting eleven—are teams better off loading up on specialists or all-rounders? Everyone’s guessing, and the auction in Goa is just weeks away.

Delhi Capitals aren’t waiting for clarity—they’ve unloaded the coaching bench, bringing in Sourav Ganguly as head coach, Yuvraj Singh for batting, and Chaminda Vaas for fast bowling. Their big trade sent 19-wicket left-arm pacer T. Natarajan out, bringing in raw but promising leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari, signaling a new spin-heavy approach that banks on coaching muscle. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians just split with title-winning coach Mahela Jayawardene, with Hardik Pandya’s future as captain hanging in the balance after trade talks with Rajasthan fizzled. That leaves one giant question: who will call the shots as the retention deadline hits?

For all the inside scoop and highest-stakes moves, we’re drawing on reporting from Business Standard, News18, Rediff, Sportstar, and more.
