Show Notes

Verizon just launched Visible One, a bundled plan that puts mobile and fiber home internet together on a single bill, aiming for simplicity with no credit checks, contracts, or installation fees. It’s a move to capture value-driven customers and lock households in, but the offer is only available to select homes with inactive fiber lines—so it’s not a nationwide play. The real bet is that bundling mobile and internet slashes customer churn and lowers acquisition costs, but reliability is crucial: if service falters, customers lose both connections at once.

Meanwhile, Verizon is doubling down on AI, expanding its partnership with Google Cloud to deploy Gemini across customer service, network ops, and marketing. AI now handles most inbound calls and chats, promising faster fixes and lower costs. But there’s a catch: the network is increasingly managed by autonomous AI agents with the power to patch and reroute traffic—raising the stakes for error and regulatory scrutiny. Customers may want human help, but the bots are taking over, and without clear governance guardrails, any slip could have big consequences.

Urban fixed wireless growth is also hitting spectrum limits, just as Verizon pushes its new bundles and alternative broadband. If FWA availability keeps tightening, expect stricter eligibility and a sharper focus on high-value areas. Based on reporting from Fierce Network, RCR Wireless, Wolfe Research, and Telecompaper.
